Whats on in March

Welcome to our round up of what’s happening in Winchester and the local area this March. Should you want to venture further afield, here’s some ideas for this month.

Set within 22 acres of stunning countryside, the Hawk Conservancy Trust is an award-winning visitor attraction close to Andover. Open daily, we advise arriving early and be sure to see some of the flying displays throughout the day. 

March 4th, 11th, 18th - Evening Owls - This spring, the Trust are hosting a special evening with their owls. As night falls, you’ll experience the majesticl owls and witness their graceful, silent flights in and out of the darkness over the Savannah Arena and amongst native woodland. Before the flying displays, there will be chance to enjoy dinner in the restaurant and meet some of the other owls.

If vintage clothes are your thing, then you’ll love the Winchester Vintage Kilo Sale. This March 25th you can experience the biggest vintage sale you’ll ever see, right here in Winchester.  Grab a bag on your way in and pick & mix your vintage clothing, all for £20 a kilo! Grab your biodegradable bag, and fill to your hearts content. It’s a great concept, and could be fantastic fun if you love vintage styles. Who know’s what treasures you’ll find! We often talk about Winchester Cathedral, and with good reason. It’s simply stunning! Well worth a visit at any time of the year to marvel at its architectural splendour, the Cathedral also hosts many fantastic events.

March 6th-11th - The Elements Luxmuralis - Earth, Air, Fire and Water. The elements will be conveyed through immersive sound and light projections as the incredible Luxmuralis returns to Winchester Cathedral.

March 18th - 'Coronation' by The Waynflete Singers - The Waynflete Singers return to the Cathedral with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra for a rousing concert anticipating the Coronation of King Charles III and reflecting back to that of Queen Elizabeth II.

March 23rd - Invasion: Russia's Bloody War and Ukraine's Fight for Survival - A talk by Luke Harding, The Guardian’s Ukrainian correspondent, in aid of DEC Ukraine.

March 24th - Vivaldi’s Four Seasons & The Lark Ascending - An unforgettable evening of beautiful music performed by the talented London Concertante.

March 31st - Russell Watson Concert - A very special evening and a real exclusive Four-time Brit Classical Award winner Russell Watson, accompanied by his pianist and a talented Choir.
