Alfred’s Bar

Alfred's Bar offers a wide variety of draught and bottled beers, wines and spirits and liqueurs in a relaxing, friendly atmosphere. In addition to a bar menu, we are also delighted to serve any dishes from our a la carte menu in the bar as well as Alfred's Restaurant.

 

Alfred's Restaurant

Alfred's Restaurant is a stylish and intimate location for lunch and dinner. A copy of the current menu is on display by the entrance to the restaurant, and also in your bedroom, and our opening times are displayed on your printed key card folder.

Diners are strongly recommended to reserve a table by dialling extension 440 from your telephone.

We would like to remind all our guests that Breakfast service on Sunday morning is often particularly busy from 9.00am onwards, and whilst every effort will be made to keep delays to a minimum you may consider taking breakfast before this time.

 

The Spa at The Winchester Hotel

The hotel's spa is located on the ground floor of the hotel. Consisting of luxury facilities including a plunge pool, sauna, steam room, hot-tub and relaxation area, as well as a fitness studio with cardio vascular and resistance machines, and a free weights area. All the facilities are complimentary to residents. 

Please do not remove your bedroom towels for use in The Spa. Additional towels will be provided from our spa reception.

Robes can be purchased for use during your stay at £7.50, however a £30.00 charge will be applied to the card on file if the robe is not returned.

Please note that children under the age of 13 are not permitted to use The Spa relaxation area or fitness room outside of child friendly times. All guests will be required to complete a mandatory health and safety assessment before using any part of the club.

Treatments

We invite you to pamper yourself with our wide range of holistic and beauty therapies in one of our luxury treatment rooms. We are extremely proud to work closely with World leading brands such as ESPA and Mii Nails and our Spa team will be delighted to offer you advice and guidance on the best treatments to meet your individual needs. Please dial `555` to discuss treatments with our dedicated Spa team or to make an appointment.

 

Car Parking

At the front of the hotel immediately next to the building
Those bays at the front of the hotel are noted as for disabled badge holder use only. 

At the rear of the hotel through the barrier.
Limited CHARGEABLE car parking is available on a first come first served basis in our own car park.

Please note that the car park at the front of the hotel is owned by Winchester City Council and is Pay and Display. The hotel is unable to accept any liability for charges or fines levied against you for parking on this council car park.

 

Luggage


If you would like assistance with your luggage when checking out of the Hotel please let our Front Desk know that morning and we will be delighted to assist.

 

Do Not Disturb Notices

You will find a Do Not Disturb notice hanging on your inside door handle.   We would like to remind all our guests that we are required for your safety to check each room every 24 hours when this notice is displayed.

Early Morning Calls and Newspapers

When you check in you will be asked if we can organise an early morning call or newspaper for you. If you would like to add or change your request at any time during your stay please let one of our Reception team know. Please note newspapers are chargeable, and an additional Hotel charge may apply.

Robes

Robes can be purchased for use during your stay at £7.50, however a £30.00 charge will be applied to the card on file if the robe is not returned.

Internet Access

The hotel offers complimentary wired and wireless internet access to hotel guests throughout the Ground Floor and in all bedrooms and suites.

 

Laundry

Dry cleaning and pressing services are available, items received by 08.00 will be returned by 21.00, except on a Sunday and Public Holiday. For collection contact the  Housekeeper or alternatively, leave your laundry/dry cleaning at the reception desk. You will find laundry lists and bags in the information holder on your dressing table.

 

Room Service

A full room service menu is available in your room. To place your order call extension 440. We would be delighted to serve any dishes from our a la carte menu to your room also. A tray charge will apply, as noted in you room service menu. Room Service breakfast can be ordered by completing the order slip which you will find hanging on your inside door handle.

 

Telephone Calls and International Calls

To obtain an outside line, just dial ‘9’. If in difficulty please dial ‘0’. A full list of our telephone charges is available from Reception. To call another guest prefix their room number with a ‘3’.

For directory enquiries please dial ‘9’ followed by either 118 118 or 118 500. Please note charges will apply for these calls. Dial ‘9’ followed by 00 for international calls, and then the country code you require.

 

Voltage

There are 220/240 volts in all sockets. A shaver socket with dual outlets 110/120 and 220/240 is located in the bathroom. The hotel has a limited number of International adaptors available free of charge, and these are available from Reception.

 

Departure

Check out time is 11.00 am, however should you wish to extend this extra charges may apply; please contact reception.

 

FIRE AND EMERGENCY

For assistance at all times, INCLUDING EMERGENCIES, please contact reception on ‘0’ (24hours).  The hotel`s fire alarm test is each Tuesday at 12.00pm and consists of three short bursts of loud alarm noise.

The hotel has taken every precaution to safeguard against fire. In the case of an emergency, the alarm will be raised by the continuous sound of a siren.

PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE BACK OF YOUR BEDROOM DOOR FOR FURTHER INFORMATION IN CASE OF FIRE.

 

Incendies

Feuer

Das Hotel verfügt über hervorragende Feurschutzmassnahmen, um unsere Gäste vor dem Feuer zu schützen. Im Notfall ertönt ein lang anhaltender Ton.

Baby Listening and Children`s accommodation


Baby listening facilities are not available at this Hotel. Family rooms and cots are available. Contact reception for further details.

Pets

The hotel is pet-friendly, please let us know in advance that you will be travelling with a pet so we can allocate you the correct room. Please note a small fee will apply.

Doctor

The hotel will call an ambulance for you in an emergency, or assist you wherever possible in gaining medical treatment with a local surgery. The Doctor may apply a charge for their services.

 

Credit Arrangements

All guests will be asked for a credit card pre-authorisation upon check-in at the hotel (please note that we are unable to preauthorise debit cards). Where a pre-authorisation is taken full payment must be made upon departure either by cash or valid debit or credit card, unless a credit facility has been established in advance with the hotel.  Where such preauthorisation is not possible at check in, guests must first settle their account in full at check in, either in cash or with a valid debit/credit card, and will then be considered as a “cash only” guest and as such will be unable to charge items to their room account. The hotel does not accept cash only guests without a prior reservation.

Please note that personal or Company cheques will not be accepted in payment of accounts unless prior arrangements have been agreed with the hotel.
